Parent Volunteer Information
Senior Week Committees Locker Decorations This committee will help in the organization of the locker decoration night. They will need to help in handing out the locker information for the seniors, guide parents to their student’s lockers, and help with items such as tape to help hang the locker strips. They will also meet with the Senior Cabinet to help organize the distribution of the locker strips to the advisement teachers. They will be here the entire time on Friday night, April 17, to help parents with emergency decoration issues.
Senior Breakfast This committee will be in charge of providing food and the set up and serving of the breakfast. Donations for the food would be preferable to keep costs at a minimum. The menu usually includes breakfast biscuits, bagels or muffins, juice, or other drinks. This committee will also work with the Door Prize committee on getting door prizes for the breakfast. This committee will coordinate the senior letters committee. Our parents will be asked to have friends and family write letters for their student. The letters will then be collected from the main office and organized and put in the envelopes according to the student’s full name.
Senior Breakfast Door Prize Committee This group will work on getting donations to be used as door prizes for the senior class. They can be in the form of gifts or gift certificates for the students. They will be given out as door prizes during the senior breakfast. Also, if you know of a company willing to donate a prize, please contact this committee.
Senior Letters This group will be working on the organization of the senior letters for each student. You will be stuffing the manila envelopes with the cards and letters for each senior. This is a wonderful job that means so much to our seniors. The letters will be due one week before the Senior Breakfast and the envelopes will be given to the seniors during the Senior Breakfast. You will need a small group of parents to help with handing out the envelopes.
Senior Social This committee will be in charge of decorating the commons and the providing the food for the senior social. This will require time in the early afternoon when you will set up for the social. You will begin the set up after school and be finished by 4:00. The social will begin around 4:30 and last until 7:00. You will also be responsible for taking down the decorations and straightening the commons after the social.
Dessert/Ice cream Sundays This group will be in charge of gathering the makings, bowls, and spoons for the ice cream Sundays and serving the seniors during their lunch. We will also need other items besides ice cream if possible.
Cookie Day This committee will be getting the cookies (hopefully donated or at a significantly reduced price) to hand out during the senior social studies class. Our teachers will be handing these out to the students so the parents will organize the cookies for the teachers to hand out. You will not be required to be here during the day.
Candy Day Last but not least, this is where we bag up goodie bags (remember Birthday parties?) for all the seniors to be given out during the language arts class. These will be handed out at the beginning of the day to the teachers to give to the students. You will not be required to be here during the day.
